Who is GECU?

The history of credit unions date back to the mid-1800’s in Europe. These non-profit organizations were first established as a full financial cooperative that focuses on the member’s needs first, instead of money.

GECU was founded in 1954, for the employees of General Electric Aircraft Engines. After expanding to a larger office in Evendale (on Reading Road), GECU opened their field of membership to Select Employer Groups (SEGs - they have over 325) and in 2007, expanded their field of membership to those who live, work, worship, or attend school in the following Ohio counties: Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Clermont, and Montgomery.

Request a membership packet be mailed to you by clicking here, or print out this membership application and mail it in with your initial $5 share deposit, along with a copy of your driver's license.

Once a Member...

Once a member, you are eligible for all we have to offer. And, once a member - always a member! As long as you keep your $5 share for membership, you're a member!

Your family can enjoy the same great benefits as you.

Once you become a member of GECU, your immediate family is eligible to join and take advantage of the membership privileges of GECU. Immediate family includes: spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent/grandchild, stepparents/children/siblings, and adoptive relationships. Additionally, a person living in the same residence and maintaining a single economic unit with a current member is also eligible to join. Use this form to invite your family to join. We’ll send them membership information about the privileges of membership at GECU!
